Shock Absorbers (or Shock Absorbing Systems) in Various Parts of the Hydraulic Breaker
The shock absorbers (or shock absorbing systems) in various parts of the hydraulic breaker are mainly used to reduce vibration, decrease noise, protect on – board equipment, and improve work efficiency. The following are the key parts where shock absorbers are installed and the principles on which the installation is based:
Shock Absorber Configuration at Key Parts
(1) Connection between the Upper Cover and the Main Machine
- Function: It reduces the impact on the boom of the excavator (or other equipment) during the operation of the hydraulic breaker, protecting the equipment.
- Configuration Method: It is recommended to use polyurethane shock absorbers, polyurethane gaskets, or polyurethane isolators, which are installed between the upper cover of the hydraulic breaker and the connecting seat.
- Principle: Materials with high fatigue resistance and high elasticity should be used to absorb shock waves. It is necessary to ensure a firm connection while avoiding vibration transmission caused by rigid connection.
(2) Between the Side Plate (Outer Shell) and the Main Body
- Function: It reduces the vibration of the machine body during the breaking process, improves the stability of the whole machine, and reduces noise.
- Configuration Method: An elastic shock – absorbing layer, such as wear – resistant rubber or polyurethane buffer blocks, is added between the side plate and the machine body.
- Principle: A balance needs to be found between absorbing vibration and maintaining the stability of the hammer body. Materials with high temperature resistance and impact resistance should be selected to ensure long – term reliability.
(3) Fixing Part of the Chisel Rod
- Function: It reduces the impact force between the chisel rod and the machine body, prolongs the service life of the chisel rod, and reduces the wear of the machine body.
- Configuration Method: A flexible shock – absorbing material, such as a wear – resistant rubber pad, is added to the clamping part of the chisel rod.
- Principle: It is necessary to ensure the stability of the chisel rod while allowing it a certain degree of freedom to avoid rigid impact. Materials with wear resistance and high pressure resistance should be selected to prevent damage caused by long – term impact.
(4) Between the Base of the Hydraulic Breaker and the Machine Body
- Function: It buffers the impact force of the entire hydraulic breaker, protecting the machine body and the hydraulic system.
- Configuration Method: High – elasticity shock – absorbing pads (such as polyurethane composite pads or shock absorbers) are installed.
- Principle: Materials combining rigidity and flexibility should be selected to prevent excessive shaking of the equipment due to over – softness or the inability to absorb shock due to over – hardness. It is necessary to ensure a compact structure without affecting the normal installation and disassembly of the equipment.
